ZCA Family Partnership Hours

What it is:

Family Partnership Hours is a program that benefits Zion Classical Academy and its students.  The policy adopted by the Board of Directors requires every ZCA family to contribute a minimum of 20 hours of service to ZCA each year, from June 1st through May 31.  These hours can be accomplished by parents, grandparents, students, and friends working together toward the family’s required hours.

Purpose:

Zion Classical Academy will utilize the Family Partnership Hours program for volunteer service hours.  We ask for the help of volunteers for several reasons:

  • Tuition does not cover all the costs associated with educating your child.  We rely on outside fundraising, which requires many helpers.

  • Volunteerism provides a means by which parents and others can participate in our students' education (and growth). Such a partnership strengthens Zion Classical Academy, and children benefit as well.

  • Volunteerism provides opportunities for individuals to use their God-given talents to help others. Those helped by volunteers may come to understand the blessings God showers upon them through the loving, generous efforts of others.

  • The service provided by volunteers complements the mission of Zion Classical Academy and its educational program, while keeping costs at a more reasonable level. We simply could not afford to maintain our present level of school programming without volunteer help.

  • Relationships are strengthened as school staff and volunteers work together. We hope and pray that our volunteers and staff members will learn to know and understand one another better.

  • Through their service to children and the school, their support for our school will grow. We hope and pray that our volunteers will gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the mission and objectives of our school.

How it works:

Sign up to help with available events or activities (see Ways to Help) via online signups, or work with classroom teachers or administration to find other ways to help.  Attend and participate in the events. Record service hours on the digital log set up by ZCA. The administration or designee will monitor hours and may reach out individually if families are behind on partnership hours.  Every ZCA family needs to contribute a minimum of 20 hours of service to ZCA each year, from June 1st through May 31st.  There are two primary fundraisers that greatly serve the school and require many helpers.  Each family is asked to help by contributing a minimum of 5 hours, split between these events.  They are the Fall Cornucopia Dessert Auction and the Spring FIRE Banquet, hosted by ACLEA.
